EDGE Registration is open for all 6th, 7th & 8th grade youth.  Our Kick Off date is Tuesday, August 31 from 6:30-7:45pm in the Social Hall.  This year’s theme is Destination: Heaven. Sacrament Preparation is available.

StMichael6th graders preparing for First Communion in their 2nd year can attend EDGE, but must register with GIFT for the Thursday Sacraments class.  These students will attend EDGE on Tuesdays and the Sacraments class on Thursdays. All 7th and 8th graders in 2nd year preparation for Sacraments will attend EDGE on Tuesdays and the Sacraments class on Thursdays.  The dates for Thursday Sacrament classes are to be announced, but will begin in October.  Thursday class meets twice per month.

Potential EDGE volunteers: An information meeting Tuesday, August 10 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in the Social Hall, there is an information meeting for anyone interested in helping out with EDGE.  Helpers include adults and high school youth in 11th grade or older.

EDGE Registration for 6th, 7th and 8th graders is currently open.  EDGE Registration for grades 6th, 7th, & 8th is open. We meet every Tuesday in the Community Center. Registration for the 2010-11 school year will be $50.

Sacramental Preparation for Middle School Youth:

Sacrament prep is available for middle school youth that are in need of Baptism and or First Communion.  Two consecutive years of religious education are required to prepare for sacraments.  For middle school youth, the process is as follows:

1st year: Youth attend EDGE nights regularly and turn in Mass homework (attend Mass and complete a form about the Mass)

2nd year: Youth attend EDGE nights regularly, turn in Mass homework, and attend an additional sacrament class.  They must also perform 10 hours of Christian service before they receive sacraments.

Forms for Mass homework & Christian service hours are available at Tuesday night EDGE meetings.  The registration fee for 2nd year youth is $50 plus $25 for the sacrament class, supplies, etc.
